Pomegranate Juice Lowered Blood Pressure in Trials
Pomegranate · ทับทิม · Punica granatum
Pomegranate — ทับทิม (thap-thim) — Punica granatum.
Pomegranate — tap-tim — hundreds of glassy ruby arils you eat by the spoonful or press into deep-red juice, and what the trials tested. Whole arils are eaten fresh or juiced, and juice is the form those trials tested. Randomized trials found modest blood-pressure reductions with pomegranate juice. Pomegranate nutrition brings fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, and potassium. Whole arils keep their fiber, which juice mostly strains out; that fiber can slow how fast carbs digest. Vitamin C helps your body make collagen, the protein that gives skin its structure. Vitamin K helps your blood clot normally. Potassium helps your muscles and nerves signal properly and keeps your fluids in balance. Yam Trinarong tosses pomegranate arils with prawns and chicken in a sweet-and-sour dressing, served over jasmine rice. Nam Thapthim presses those arils into juice, chilled with a pinch of salt beside spicy green papaya salad. For growers, pomegranate shrugs off drought, but uneven water during fruiting can split the skins. If you take blood-pressure medicine or blood thinners, ask your doctor before drinking the juice regularly. Follow Longevity Biome for a new Thai plant every day.
