Pineapple Bromelain in Human Pain Trials

Phu Lae Pineapple · สับปะรด · Ananas comosus

Phu Lae Pineapple — สับปะรด (sap-pa-rot) — Ananas comosus.

Phu Lae pineapple — sap-pah-rot — the Chiang Rai pineapple prized for a core soft and sweet enough to eat. The edible part is the fruit, and Phu Lae pineapple carries bromelain, an enzyme that modestly eased pain scores in pooled trials. The trial literature focuses on bromelain. For pineapple nutrition, the fruit is rich in vitamin C, manganese, and vitamin B6. Manganese helps maintain normal bones, helps turn food into energy, and supports your normal antioxidant defenses. Kaeng Khua Sapparot features sweet pineapple and shrimp simmered in red curry coconut milk, eaten with jasmine rice and a savory Thai omelet. Khao Phat Sapparot is a fragrant curry-spiced fried rice stir-fried with pineapple and shrimp, served in a pineapple shell with sliced cucumbers. The core is edible and especially rich in bromelain, while the firm flesh is enjoyed fresh or grilled. You can even save the green leafy crown from a store-bought pineapple to grow your own.
